This event, globally recognized as a key space for the exchange of experiences in the field of statistics and data, seeks to drive innovation, foster strategic partnerships, mobilize political and financial support, and pave the way toward more robust data for sustainable development.

In its fifth edition, held in Colombia, the forum’s mission is to provide a unique space to socialize, disseminate, and analyze processes, practices, challenges, and use cases led by producers and users of statistics and data. Through this, it aims to strengthen National Statistical Systems and foster a better understanding of expanded data ecosystems.

The vision is for the #VWorldDataForum2024 (#UNDataForum) to establish itself as the global epicenter of the data and statistics community, promoting international collaboration and innovation in data management. The event aims to act as a catalyst for knowledge exchange, the identification of best practices, and the exploration of solutions in the statistical field. In this way, it seeks to become a key reference point for government actors, civil society, the private sector, national and international agencies, the media, and academia.

As part of the forum’s activities, the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), in collaboration with the Medellín Administrative Department of Planning, the Medellín Department of Tourism and Entertainment, and Esri, presents the Geovisor: an innovative tool designed to offer an informative and visual tour of the city. Through the Geovisor, you can explore Medellín’s most iconic tourist and cultural spots, providing a detailed look at the diversity and heritage that make this city unique.
